Peace (Pax)
This code fixed the limit of the king’s peace (grið). In Quadripartitus, this law forms a pair with that on corpse-robbery (Walreaf) and were treated as extensions to Æthelred’s Wantage code. As all of these codes contain words of Scandinavian origin, including grið, it is likely that this text was intended for use in the Danelaw area.
