Norðleoda laga (Norðleod)
This is a set of wergelds payable by those people leaving in Northumbrian society. The text exists in several manuscript collections, some of which are connected to have been amended by Wulfstan, archbishop of York (1002-1023). However, the text anticipates the need for a wergeld for a Northumbrian king, which would date it to no later than the mid-tenth century.
