Edmund’s Colyton code (III Em)
The last of the codes of King Edmund (r. 939-946) was issued at Colyton in Devon. Unlike the other two codes from his reign, it survives only in a Latin exemplar from the Quadripartitus. The code deals with loyalty, trading before witnesses, tracking of stolen cattle and providing surety for one’s men.
